Hey heyyy! It’s Makenzie, your favorite social media manager :)
This topic is something that I preach to anyone who asks me about social media. So I figured, why not write a blog post about it!
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or confused about what to post, when to post, or how to get people to actually engage with your content, you’re not alone. But don’t worry – I’ve got you!
Authenticity, Authenticity, Authenticity!!!!
First things first, social media is all about being real. People can tell when you’re just posting for the sake of posting. And let’s be honest, nobody likes that. What they do like is authenticity. Share your story, your journey, your wins, and even your struggles. Be yourself, and let your brands personality shine through! Your audience will appreciate the realness and will be more likely to engage with you.
Consistency is key.
Next up, consistency. Think of social media like a friendship – you can’t just show up once in a blue moon and expect to be best buds. You need to be there consistently. This doesn’t mean you need to post every hour, but having a regular schedule helps. Whether it’s daily, a few times a week, or even weekly, just make sure you’re consistent. It helps keep you in people’s minds and shows that you’re active and invested.
The Three E's: Engaging, Entertaining, or Educational
Your content should either engage, entertain, or educate. If it doesn’t tick at least one of these boxes, it’s time to rethink your strategy. Share tips, fun facts, behind-the-scenes looks, or even a bit of humor. Keep it fresh and interesting. Remember, you want people to look forward to your posts, not scroll past them.
It’s More Than Just Posting
Here’s the deal – you can’t just throw up a post and expect it to work magic for your business. Social media is a tool to amplify everything you’re already doing. It’s a way to increase your visibility and stay relevant in people’s minds. It helps people remember you, stay connected with you, and see what you’re up to. It’s a crucial part of your brand’s ecosystem, especially in today’s digital age.
Keep It Fun!
Last but definitely not least, social media should be fun! If you’re having fun, your audience will too. It’s obvious when you’re just going through the motions, and trust me, people won’t engage with that. Also, make sure your content is clear and easy to navigate. If it’s confusing or cluttered, people will move on. Keep it simple, straightforward, and user-friendly.
So Basically...
Social media isn’t just a side task... it’s a powerful tool that, when used correctly, can elevate your brand and keep you connected with your audience. Be authentic, consistent, engaging, and always have fun with it. Your audience will thank you, and you’ll see the benefits in no time.
Now get out there and go slay the day!!! You got this!
Peace and love, Mak
